October 2, 2009 Landscapes in a Truck Photography Exhibit

In one of the first US showings of his work, Richmond-based artist Shaun Irving displayed remarkable photographs taken with his Cameratruck. Having converted a large truck into a simple lightbox camera, Irving captured Spanish landscapes on canvas-sized photographic paper, allowing the development process to become part of the final artwork. This one night only exhibit in 210 Rock gave residents, visitors and special guests a chance to meet the artist, enjoy music and refreshments and even take home a piece of Irvingís art. Visit www.cameratruck.com to learn more about Shaun Irvingís work.

For this inaugural Richmond Multisports event, nearly 200 triathletes arrived at Rockettsí riverbank to face a challenging course over land and water. The rain, however, couldnít put a damper on the biking and running portion of the day. The course weaved through the nearby Henrico countryside, downtown Richmond and back to the finish line at Rocketts Landing where food, refreshments, live music and the award ceremony awaited inside 210 Rock.
