Rocketts Landing
  Meet Danny and Peggy Broaddus
Downsizing for a bigger life.
Cedar Works, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Den

What do you do when you have a huge city home and are ready to downsize? In Danny and Peggy Broaddus’s case, you stay in the city.

This urban couple had raised a family in their historic 3,400 square foot Ginter Park home. “One of our daughters was married in the backyard, and our other daughter hadn’t lived anywhere else,” says Peggy. However, while it was quite a change when the Broadduses moved to Rocketts Landing in October 2007, the family quickly adapted. “When our younger daughter came home for Thanksgiving, she tested the water, then over Christmas she was immediately inviting friends over, showing off her new home. She was very proud and saying ‘Come over and see where I live.’”

Danny and Peggy began looking for a smaller home several years ago. They were drawn to Cedar Works not only because of the beautiful condos, but also because of the entire community. “We looked at the high-rise condos that are randomly put on a little piece of property – that wasn’t going to work,” says Danny. “When we learned about Rocketts, we thought, ‘This is perfect.’”

The Broadduses believe that one of the biggest draws is that Rocketts Landing is “a real neighborhood.” “We wanted something that was diverse, where we could walk down the sidewalk and meet neighbors and be part of a real community.” Today, as they enjoy their condominium in Cedar Works, Danny and Peggy are living that dream.
