Rocketts Landing
  Meet Lawrence & Jacqueline Burke
Living well. Life's ultimate reward.
Sky Line, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms

As Lawrence & Jacqueline Burke approached retirement, they had a decision to make. They knew they didn’t want to leave the region they called home but they also knew their two-story house in Varina wouldn’t be the best place for them to stay either. A few houses in the suburbs caught their eye, but none of them seemed to fit. Then one day, their daughter told them she had found the perfect place for them.

They had driven past Rocketts Landing a few times but had never given it too much thought. After a tour, they couldn’t stop thinking about it. Views of the river, dining just steps from their door, close to downtown and simply beautiful. Their daughter was right. It was indeed perfect.

Now all that was left was to choose just the right unit. If they went with a smaller unit, Lawrence reasoned, they could reward themselves with something extra, like a brand new boat. But Lawrence could tell that his wife had already fallen in love with the home with a view: a beautiful condominium in Sky Line. It was slightly larger than their suburban two-story and was perched right on the banks of the James River. No doubt about it. This was home.

Does Lawrence miss his dream boat? Not one bit. “This home is it. This home is how we’re rewarding each other for 42 years of marriage.”  And while they’ve enjoyed meeting neighbors and making new friends, they’ll tell you one of the sweetest parts of spending their retirement years at Rocketts Landing is the “undisturbed quality time we have together.”

Jackie makes her feelings about Rocketts Landing being their home very clear:
“We love it, we love it, we love it.”
